My clinical practice focuses on adults and adolescents who have been or currently impacted by mental health problems, infertility, eating disorders, and trauma. I focus on helping my clients examine patterns, ineffective communication, unhealthy roles and boundaries, and conflict resolution skills.

Infertility Support

Infertility is not an inconvenience, it is a disease of the reproductive system that impairs the body’s ability to perform the basic function of reproduction. Infertility affects men and women equally, and there is sometimes no apparent cause for infertility. Infertility counseling is an important resource that will help you by providing you with the tools you need to navigate the emotions that come up along the way so you can thoughtfully explore the options to grow the family that is right for you.I work with individuals on the journey towards parenthood cope with the feelings of anxiety, fear, disappointment, isolation and grief that can arise when struggling to conceive.

  • Cope with stressors

  • Regain sense of control

  • Process feelings

  • Create meaning

  • Establish identity outside of infertility

  • Learn mindfulness & coping skills

  • Practice gratitude

  • Reframe negative thoughts

Trauma

Trauma is not so much about the story, but how the story binds you. From a somatic based therapeutic model and interpersonal attachment perspective, I work on creating a healing environment to explore how you may find safety and aliveness in the here and now and in relationship with others. I help clients learn ways of attuning more to their awareness, felt-sense of self and embodying self-compassion, as well as living a life of authenticity. I believe trauma can be fully resolved and hold hope for each person who suffers.

Eating Disorder

According to the National Eating Disorder Association, up to 70 million people suffer from eating disorders. I believe full recovery from an eating disorder is possible and work diligently with you towards it. I have extensive experience treating anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders at all levels of care from residential treatment to outpatient support.

Depression and Anxiety

Anxiety and depression at times may feel overly debilitating. Fear, when it has you in its grips, takes over your sense of self. Often you are left in fight, flight or freeze response unable to engage with your thinking mind (or completely stuck in ruminating thoughts). Leaving you with a sense of immobility (or "stuckness"), it is hard to do the very thing which may bring you support, reaching out for help. Understanding this, I work at meeting you where you are and supporting you in increasing your window of tolerance to staying present, connected and engaged with life.
